It's Thursday, January 21st...so: 1.21.2021 and a '9' day, numerologically.
Biodynamically, it's a 'fruit' day, so fruits and nuts will taste especially delicious...chocolate covered raisins, maybe? Or chocolate saltines with walnuts?
Yesterday, I had a craving for this easy dessert, so I foraged through my cupboards to verify I had all of the ingredients:
Crackers to cover the cookie sheet
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
2-3 cups chocolate chips
nuts
Since I don't eat saltines, I used some WASA rye crackers (imported from Germany, they don't aggravate gluten issues like products made in the USA.)
I lined a buttered cookie sheet with them, boiled the butter and sugar in a saucepan for 3 minutes (without stirring) and poured the mix over the crackers. Then I stuck them in the oven (400 degrees) for 7 minutes.
After taking them out of the oven, I placed the chips on the top, allowed them to melt, and spread the chocolate evenly, followed by a sprinkling of nuts.
After chilling them (fridge/freezer) they can be broken into pieces...a perfect intermission snack!
(Inter=between; Mission=combat operation)
Intermission, you ask?
Yes. Because this movie is not over yet!
As a young girl, I remember my maternal grandmother insisting we all go see the movie 'Gandhi,' which was over 3 hours long. It was the only movie I had ever seen that actually took a break in the middle.
Currently, the real-life events playing out are much more exciting...and yet, some folks might think the show is over.
Noooooo......
It's a real nail-biter, huh? So. What's next? We gotta stick around to see!
