Buried!

It's Thursday, December 17th. I was deep in a dream this morning when I awoke to the sound of the snowplow.

It took me a hot minute and strong cup of tea to finally get my snow pants on and venture outside.

Did you get any snow?

Are you silently grateful you live in a place where it doesn't snow?

This may be the most snow I've seen in one storm, in the twenty years I've lived in Vermont.

My neighbor said he measured 31 inches.

I spent 3 and a half hours shoveling. Sonny came back this afternoon for a second pass of plowing.

As I shoveled, I thought about how much I used to love snow days, as a child...and loved celebrating them with my sons.

Did you run outside first thing? Did you make snow sculptures and drink hot cocoa? Did you hibernate with a book?

Turns out, those things might be a thing of the past...

A former colleague told me today was 'school per usual.' No snow day.

I suppose with learning being remote, this is just the 'new normal?

Ugh. No thanks. Being a free-thinking rebel, I considered this brilliant viewpoint about obedience...while enjoying this humorous take by JP. And this.

Maybe it's not really that funny?

I feel like I've been doing my part...like a canary in the coal mine.

Even though I'm aware of what seems to be playing out in front of my eyes, I'm holding out with hope and faith for the eventual Awakening: the Apocalypse - (defined again as) a revelation.

The great reveal: Masks - OFF!

In the meantime, I'm feeling into what seems right for each moment: small chores, bringing in firewood, making soup.

Also, I'm listening to a balance of uplifting things. If you like, you can sign up for the Earthkeeper's Summit, too...and listen to this podcast about the "Great Conjunction."

All pretty timely for Gate 11:Line 5 - The philanthropist

"(Left Angle Cross of Education) Exaltation: The motiveless nurturing of the disenfranchised to ensure harmony. Philosophic and humanitarian ideas."
